Abstract

Preparations for removing or loosening cuticle, which contain a tissue-disintegrating substance such as potassium hydroxide, are made by adding such substance to a liquid suspension of a soap, preferably a sodium, or a hard, soap. Using glycerine 74,56 grams, stearic acid 8.38 grams, caustic soda 1.18 grams, potassium hydroxide 3 grams, and water 12.88 grams, the acid is heated with the soda in the presence of the glycerine to which the water has been added; the heating is carried up to, say, 93 DEG C., with stirring, and until effervescence occurs. The potassium hydroxide is added to the mass after it has been cooled.
