Abstract
The hydrolysis of acylated 1-alkylamino-2-halogen - 4 - aminoarylaminoanthraquinones is effected by means of sulphuric acid in the presence of boric acid. According to the example, 2-bromo-1-acetylmethylamino-4-p-aminophenylaminoanthraquinone, obtained by acetylating the 2-4-dibromo-1-methylamino compound, followed by treating it with p-phenylenediamine, is hydrolysed in monohydrate of sulphuric acid in presence of boric acid to give a good yield of the hydrolysed product. A p-Aminophenylmorpholine may also be used for occupying the 4-position. The sulphonation of the product of the example is described.
