Abstract
In the process of making articles by gelling sensitive rubber dispersions in heated moulds, the heating of the mould is greater at the thicker parts of the article than at the thinner. In the making of a shoe in a mould with a core, the sole and heel portion may be placed in a shallow layer of hot water and heated directly, while the upper is heated only by conduction, and by the steam rising from the water. The whole mould may subsequently be completely immersed in the hot water. The process may be employed in the process described in Specification 391,511.
