Abstract

392,253. Escalators. SIMON, Ltd., H. and KININMONTH, C. P., Bird Hall Lane, Cheadle Heath, Cheshire. Dec. 7, 1931, No. 33855. [Class 78 (i).] In escalators of the type in which the stair treads with their risers are pivotally secured to endless chains at or about the base of the risers, the chains are replaced by an endless belt, or belts f, and the treads c and risers b are arranged so that they are always wholly outside the area enclosed within the belt or belts. A spindle d is passed through the side frames of each step and is attached by bolts e to the belt f.
