Abstract
391,287. Brushes. BEECHWOOD, Ltd. and WILCOCK, E. A., Bellington Road, Chesham, Buckinghamshire. Feb. 25, 1932, No. 5649. [Class 19.] A paint or like brush is constructed of two or more tufts of bristles 22, Fig. 2, having their roots dipped in rubber or like solution, with a longitudinal metal bar 21 in between contained in a ferrule 20 and the whole vulcanized. A handle 23 is afterwards affixed. No securing nails are used for the bristles. The bar 21 may be attached at one or both ends to the ferrule, preferably by soldering. In a modification, Fig. 5, the bar 21 has holes 25 for rubber solution and is attached to the handle by an extension 21a entering a slot in the handle. In a further modification, Fig. 12, the plate 21 has an extension which is slit to form attachment pieces 21b fitting inside the ferrule 20.
