Abstract
391,030. Beer engines. GREEN, W. J., Box Tree Cottage, St. Christopher's Road, Haslemere, Surrey. Sept. 30, 1932, No. 27122. [Class 102 (i).] Apparatus for raising beer &c. comprises a valve-box A containing a suction valve C and a discharge valve B and connected by a branch pipe G to a plate H, on which a glass bell-jar J is secured by a nut K. A pipe L is connected to a cylinder containing a piston, the reciprocation of which alternately draws air from and forces it into the belljar J, thus drawing liquid through the pipe E and discharging it through the pipe F. The stem of the valve C is guided by rings carried by legs on the valve B and the stem of the valve B is similarly guided by a ring carried by a plunger N. The valve stems are provided with split pins and, by means of the plunger N, the valves can be lifted to allow liquid to flow back to the suction pipe, or the valves can be removed together with the cover D.
