387,967. Photo-sensitive material. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Oct. 3, 1932, No. 27415. Convention date, Oct. 5, 1931. Addition to 361,750. [Class 98 (ii).] The invention of the parent Specification, which consists in depositing a light-sensitive substance on a carrier from the vapour phase, is modified, in order that the carrier may be subjected to wet treatment without detaching portions of the sensitive substance, by applying to the carrier an agglutinant layer as of gelatin, fish-glue, agar-agar, water-glass, collodion, or gum arabic, on to the surface of which the light-sensitive substance is deposited. Whereas the material produced according to the parent Specification is intended to be developed physically by means of a metal vapour, as by treating it with the vapour of mercury or cadmium in a closed vessel, the material produced according to the present Specification may be developed by a wet physical method, as by treatment first in a bath of silver nitrate and then in a bath containing metol and citric or acetic acid, or by a wet chemical method, as by treatment with a bath of alkaline pyrogallol containing potassium bromide.
