Abstract
386,908. Gas turbines. BARBERA, M., 11, Strada Superiore, Val San Martino, Turin, Italy. Aug. 16, 1932, No. 22966. [Class 110 (iii).] The combustion chamber 1 of a gas turbine of the impulse or reaction type is fitted with a long discharge pipe 8 in which the mass of products oscillates, it being used partly at the discharge and partly for the suction and compression of the following charge. The chamber is fitted with an air inlet 5, a carburetter 3, an inlet check valve 2, and a sparking plug 11. A wire gauze 12 is fitted on the outlet side to prevent propagation of the flame. When compressed gas is used a supplementary port fitted with a check valve may be provided in the restricted portion 10.
