Abstract

Deterioration of rubber, transformer oils, soaps, and similar organic materials by atmospheric oxygen, sunlight, or heat is prevented by incorporating therein phenyl-2-naphthylamines disubstituted in the phenyl nucleus, such as xylyl- or cumidyl-2-naphthylamines.ALSO:Deterioration of transformer oils or soaps by atmospheric oxygen, sunlight, or heat is prevented by incorporating therein phenyl-2-naphthylamines disubstituted in the phenyl nucleus, e.g. xylyl- or diamidyl-2-naphthylamines.ALSO:Deterioration of rubber, transformer oils, soaps, and similar organic materials by atmospheric oxygen, sunlight or heat is prevented by incorporating therein phenyl-2-naphthylamines disubstituted in the phenyl nucleus. Tables are given showing the results of ageing tests on rubber containing 1 per cent of xylyl- or cumidyl-2-naphthylamine.
