[Class 81 (ii).] A colostomy appliance comprises an apertured plate A held over the artificial anus by a belt and provided with a long depending discharge tube D which increases in diameter from the curved upper portion C to the open lower end E. Cotton wool, or a rubber washer, may be placed between the plate A and the abdomen to ensure a tight joint.
