Abstract

381,331. Rotary brushes. DREWRY, J. S., Kingston, William Way, and SHELVOKE & DREWRY, Ltd., Icknield Way, both in Letchworth, Hertfordshire. Oct. 6, 1931, No. 27761. [Class 19.] Rotary brushes for road-sweeping machines comprise a flexible sleeve A of strip metal such as gunmetal, loosely encircling a fixed shaft B and a series of stocks C of brushes running loosely on the coil sleeve A. Each brush has one or more holes C<2> in which are shouldered pins D engaging corresponding holes in adjacent stocks so as to connect the stocks together. The brush is preferably rotated by a driven plate or disc E at one or each end, having studs E<1> to engage holes in the stocks. The sleeve A may be carried frictionally by the brush stocks or it may be driven positively.
