Abstract

380,922. Galvanic batteries; couplings. OLDHAM & SON, Ltd, and HOLT, H., 36, Hyde Road, Denton, near Manchester. Sept. 1, 1931, No. 24585. [Classes 38 (i) and 53.] Storage batteries are connected together by a metal strip 2<1> encased in insulating material 3. The connector is secured to the battery lugs by screws 4 which take into metal inserts 6 let into the lugs. If countersunk screws are used as shown in Fig. 4, the metal strip 2<1> may be bent downwards as shown at 11 to accommodate the head of the screw. The spaces above the screw heads may be filled with bitumen, resin or wax. The battery lugs are held in position by nuts 7 located in recesses in the lid, a washer 9 being held between a collar 10 on the lug and the part 8 of the lid.
