Abstract

377,877. Rotary engines. BACHMANN, A., Subingen, Solothurn, Switzerland. Dec. 4, 1931, No. 33686. [Class 110 (ii).] A rotary internal combustion engine has a hinged abutment 25 which serves as the outlet valve of a combustion chamber 28. It is closed by the sloping fronts 8 of the pistons 6 or by a cam mounted on the rotor shaft 3. The pistons 6 and the sides of the rotor disc 5 are fitted with packing rings 9, 11. Ignition takes place as the valve 25 opens behind a piston and the combustion products enter the expansion chamber 29. The gases are exhausted through outlets 27.
