Abstract
377,788. Pivots. COOPER, F. L., The Hollies, Malden Road, Cheam, Surrey, and JEFFREYS & CO., Ltd., J., Barrons Place, Waterloo Road, London. June 11, 1931, No. 16998. [Class 65 (ii).] A damper for ventilation purposes is mounted in bearings capable o being operated to lock it in a desired position. The damper consists of a metal plate A fixed to a flat bar a<1>, the ends of which project beyond the edges of the plate and form the pivots by which the damper is mounted in its bearings b<1>, b<2>. One end a2 is formed circular in cross section and the other end a<3> is slightly rounded on its longitudinal edges. The bearing b<1> is tapped to receive a screwed sleeve b<3> in which the pivot a2 is mounted. The sleeve is formed with a recess b<4> adapted to be engaged by a special tool by which it may be rotated to bear tightly against the butting end of the rod a<1> and lock the damper in position.
