Abstract
377,355. Vehicle wheel-guards; road squeegees. GRAFHAM, B. L. and GRAFHAM, A. J., 41, Ringstead Road, Catford, London. May 23, 1931, No. 15302. [Class 103 (ii).] A combined wheel-guard and squeegee for motor &c. vehicles comprises two tubular telescopic spring-pressed parts a, b connected by a pin-and-slot device j, k, the movable part b carrying for example, one or more sheets g of reinforced rubber which act as a guard and also as squeegees to clean the road surface when the part b is pressed downwards by the spring c on release of a Bowden cable &c. connected to a rod f secured to the part b. The part a is angularly adjustable in a clip h attached to a bar pivoted to the wheel to enable the guard to be swung to an inoperative horizontal position. Movement of the part b may be limited by means fixed to the rod f outside the part a. Specification 264,240, [Class 103 (ii), Rail and road vehicles, Details applicable &c. to], is referred to.
