375,919. Atmospheric gas burners. FLAVEL & CO., Ltd., S. and ESSEX, G., Eagle Foundry, Leamington, Warwickshire. April 20, 1931, No..11702. [Class 75 (i).] In an atmospheric burner for gas fires and heaters, the gas discharged from a duct 1 is regulated by displacement of a threaded air duct 5 relatively to a cap 2 on the gas duct, the gas and air ducts being maintained coaxial by an apertured guide plate 8 positioned inside the cap. The cap 2 has a tapered nozzle portion 3, the smallest diameter of which is slightly larger than the duct 5 so that the gas is discharged in an unbroken stream and cannot be entirely shut off except by a cock 10. A packing gland 4 is provided at the rear end of the duct 5.
