Abstract

374,313. Roof ventilators. EN-TOUTCAS CO. (SYSTON), Ltd. and BROWN, C. A., Syston, near Leicester. July 18, 1931, No. 20618. [Class 137.] A roof ventilator comprises a trough or equivalent member disposed beneath an outlet opening in such a position as to permit the outward passage of. air whilst intercepting any snow or moisture which may enter through the opening. The ventilator comprises a chamber 1 fitted on the roof 2 above a roof opening 3 and has a flat top provided with a longitudinal opening 5. A horizontal trough 6 of semicircular or other section is mounted within the chamber beneath the opening 5 in such a position as to intercept drift passing through the opening at the greatest possible angle. Moisture collecting in the trough is discharged through an aperture 7 in the end wall of the chamber. Grooves 9 are formed along the underside of the chamber roof at the sides of the opening 5 to prevent the creeping of moisture. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 16105/86, [Class 137, Ventilation], 3890/87, 5380/93, [both in Class 25, Chimneys, &c.], 25680/98 and 3077/99, [both in Class 137, Ventilation].
