Abstract

373,289. Impact pulverizers. ELLIS, M. I. WILLIAMS-, Plas Weunydd, Blaenau Festiniog, and FLEWIN, A. E., Bron-y- Aur, Aberglaslyn, Beddgelert, both in Merionethshire. Feb. 26, 1931, No. 6068. [Class 59.] In a mill of the kind described in Specification 13257/07, [Class 59, Grinding, crushing, &c.], the detachable shoes R at the extremity of the beater arms are inclined backward in relation to the direction of revolution of the arms, the angle of inclination being variable according to the speed at which the mill is to be driven. The chamber is provided with a side inlet or inlets H and with a radial outlet or outlets J controlled by valves K so that the number, size and position of the outlet can be regulated. A casing or lining E is provided with corrugations G which may be inclined to the axis of the mill and the beater arms Q are secured to a boss N which is fixed to a sleeve M on the driving shaft by shear pins P. The mill may be extended by removing a side plate and adding beaters Q and linings E, the beaters and linings being angularly advanced in respect of the existing beaters and linings. In a modification, Fig. 4, a screen T is provided in the side of the mill through which the fines are conveyed to an outlet W. Air is drawn into the mill through orifices S.
