Abstract

371,509. Feltable fabrics woven from mixed materials. VOHS, N., 28, Goethestrasse, Gladbach, Munich, Germany. Feb. 10, 1931, No. 4190. [Class 142 (iv).] The woollen materials forming the main constituent of woven fabrics which are subjected during their finishing treatment to a felting process by fulling are spun into two different threads, one for example being a highly feltable woollen thread and the other being shoddy or poor quality worsted. These two threads are introduced into the same shed, either simultaneously or one after another The two threads may be twisted in different directions. One thread may be twisted more tightly than the other. The two woollen threads may contain other materials, thus cotton and artificial silk may be spun with the wool in the highly feltable thread and silk with the wool in the less feltable thread.
