Abstract

370,473. Mechanicaltoys. WINCOTT, E., 25, Wiltshire Road, Brixton, London. Dec. 11, 1930, No. 37402. [Class 132 (iii).] A toy figure of moulded indiarubber or similar material has distortional movements impart. ed thereto by means of a swash plate incorporated therein, the central axis of the figure remaining undistorted. The figure comprises a rod 3 mounted in a boss 2a in a base member 2 provided with a spherical mem. ber 4 about which oscillates a swash plate 5 prevented from rotating by a member 6 fixed tc the rod 3 and projecting through a hole 5c in the plate 5. The latter carries metal cup-like members 11, 12 connected by rubber cones 9 and 10 respect. ively to the rod 3 and to a fixed tube 13, and is oscillated by rotation of an arm 14 fixed to a tube 16 which is turned by hand or by a motor through gearing 16a, 18. During manufacture, the mechanism with the rubber cones 9, 10 in position (the plate 5 being at right-angles to the rod 3), is placed in the mould, and after the moulding is set the tube 16 is forced upwards to the distortional position shown and held by inserting a sleeve 17.
