Abstract
369,551. Parachutes. TRICAU, G., 72, Rue Jullien, Vanves, Seine, France. Sept. 19, 1930, No. 28103. Convention date, Sept. 20, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 4.] To reduce the shock on the shrouds as a parachute opens, it is formed with slits a<o> in the seams which open under excess pressure ; the shrouds are formed as flat webbings secured in the seams and stitched to circumferential webbings at the edge and intermediate portions of the cover ; and between the shrouds in the lower sector of the cover light fabric elements to check oscillation are arranged and secured to the edge of the cover or between the cover and the load. The part of the webbing shrouds clear of the cover are rolled and sewn or whipped. Alternatively the webbing e, Fig. 3, may be formed with an eye through which a suspension cord is passed several times and bound at f<1>. The free end is then passed through a hole in the cover and bound to the main cord at f<2> so as to embrace the reinforced edge of the cover. Instead of or in addition to the slits a<o>, circumferential slits may be provided. The slits also may be lined with net or provided with an elastic border.
