Abstract
367,900. Forging-machines. BENEDETTO, G., 45, Via Dante Alighieri, Novara, Italy. Nov. 28, 1930, No. 35840. [Class 83 (iv).] A machine vice is provided with a magnetized jaw to prevent the work falling out when the grip of the jaws is released. In the case of electric forging machines with vice jaws of good conducting but non-magnetic material such as bronze a core 16 of magnetic material is provided extending through the jaw member 13 and jaw 12 and is shaped at the end to correspond with the jaw face or bush 15. The core is magnetized by an electromagnetic winding 23 supplied from terminals 24, 25, and is adjustable by means of a hand-wheel 20 and screw 22 which enables it to be used as an ejector of a work-piece becoming stuck in the jaw.
