Dec. 6, 1930, No. 36832. Convention date, Dec. 18, 1929. [Class 8 (i).] A motor and fan unit e is suspended in the casing of a vacuum cleaner by means of an insulating and resilient member g of the form described below. The end of the member-g projects over the fan f and is there formed with an edge r for stripping threads &c. from the fan blades. One face s of the member g is a plane making an angle with the axis of the machine in the direction of rotation of the fan f as shown. The other face u is tangential to the motion of the fan at the edge r and curves round to meet the face s as shown. The unit e is secured in the casing by screws h engaging nuts m mounted in the wall of the unit by means of resilient washers p and sleeves q. An opening v in the member g covered by a sieve x in the casing allows for ventilation of the motor.
