366,434. Overhead cables. BRUNTON, J. D., of Wire Mills, Musselburgh, Midlothian, DAVIDSON, W. S., 43, Anerley Park, London, and SEABROOK, A. H., Wyllyotts Manor, Potters Bar, Middlesex. Sept. 15, 1931, Nos. 25852 and 25853. [Class 36.] An overhead cable comprises a built-up metal core 31 and a high conductivity metal tape 32 lapped round the core in one or more layers. The core 31 may consist entirely of material adapted to withstand tension, or may include one or two strands of high conductivity metal. The metal tape may be lapped on the core hot and may be tinned. A fabric tape 33 treated with adhesive and waterproofed, may be lapped on the core under the metal tape, and may be applied, as shown, to the outside of the completed conductor. The outer lapping 33 is treated with anticorrosive paint.
