Abstract

365,657. Bubble towers. REAVELL, J. A., 5, Grosvenor Gardens, London. Oct. 24, 1930, No. 32043. [Class 55 (ii).] In a bubble fractionating tower having plates 1 each down tube 3 is disposed vertically over a bubble cap 6 of the next plate and is sealed by seal pot 4 provided with liquid distributing arms 5. The bubble cap 6 may support and be integral with the seal pot as shown. The height of the down tube above the plate can be adjusted vertically to determine the depth of liquor on the plate by providing an inner tube 3b, Fig. 3, slidable in the outer tube 3 which is locked in position by a flange 3c and lock nut 3d. The ends of the arms 5 may be provided with adjustable sleeves having slots so that the flow of liquid can be directed as required.
