365,634. Straight-bar knitting- machines. LIEBERKNECHT, P. and MASCHINENFABRIK EINSIEDEL GES., near Chemnitz, Germany. Oct. 22, 1930, No. 31666. Convention date, May 16. [Class 74 (ii).] Patterns in spliced knitted fabric similar to those shown are produced on straight-bar machines by the use of pattern discs e, el which are rotated by ratchet gear so that studs b<1>, b<11> thereon are brought into range of the stops c on the splicing yarn guides k. The discs can also be traversed, by a right and lefthand screwed shaft m. While the triangles 1, 11 are being produced the shaft m remains at rest, the vertical and inclined edges being formed by rows of studs b<11>, b<1> which are respectively of uniform and of gradually increasing height. The triangles 2, 2<1> are produced by feeding the shaft m in the same direction as the discs and the triangles 3, 3<1> by feeding the shaft in the opposite direction. A stepped cam can be used in place of the row of studs b<1>. In place of the discs e, el stepped discs traversable by the shaft m and mounted on axles at right-angles thereto may be used.
