365,455. Aircraft wheel braking system. JUNKERS, H., 21, Kaiserplatz, Dessau, Anhalt, Germany. May 12, 1931, No. 14041. Convention date, May 31, 1930. [Class 4.] For operating pneumatic or hydraulic brakes of an aircraft the brake valves 15, 16 on the two sides of the machine are actuated by a two-armed lever 5, 6 mounted on a spindle 3 which can pivot about a transverse pin 2 so that movements of the lever about the spindle 3 apply the brakes on one or the other side of the machine and movements about the pin 2 apply both brakes. The lever 5, 6 is moved by a lever 4 mounted thereon or the lever 4 may be mounted on the end of the spindle 3 and the lever 5, 6 moved about the spindle by chain-and-sprocket gear from a hand-wheel at the upper end of the lever. A spring 23 normally keeps the lever 4 in neutral position against a stop 24. The lever 5, 6 acts on intermediate levers 7, 8, springs 11, 12 normally holding the valves 15, 16 in their exhaust position and the levers 7, 8 against stops 43, 44. The whole of the apparatus including the brake valves 15, 16 is mounted on a plate 1.
