Abstract

364,658. Valve generating circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Marconi House, Strand, London. -(Albersheim, W.; 175, .Riverside Drive, New York, U.S.A.) Sept. 11, 1930, No. 27152. [Class 40 (v).] Oscillations of low frequency are stabilized by the use of a piezo-crystal or like vibrator operating, at a higher frequency, an harmonic' of the low-frequency oscillations being modulated by a crystal-controlled oscillator, and the resulting difference frequency fed back to maintain the low-frequency oscillation. For example, a valve 10 oscillating at 20000 cycles feeds an harmonic producer 13 the plate circuit of which is tuned to 80000 cycles. This oscillation after amplification by the valve 17 is combined with an oscillation of 100,000 cycles produced by the valve 19 under the control of a crystal 20. The difference frequency of 20000 cycles resulting from this combination is fed back from the valve 19 to the valve 10, and the strength of the feed back is such that valve 10 is forced to oscillate at the difference frequency.
