[Class 41.] Electrodes.-An electrode assembly which serves as a cover for a cell consists of a number of horizontally arranged electrodes of plate form clamped together by a device arranged on the upper side out of contact with the electrolyte. The assembly shown (inverted) comprises frames 5, clamps 2 and tie-rods 3, whereby the electrode members 1 are secured. Hooks engaging the rods 3 may be provided on the frames 5 to permit removal of the members 1 without completely dismantling the apparatus. The electrodes and clamps may alternatively be tongued and grooved. Current supply members may be secured between the electrodes and the clamps. The clamps may be of the same material as the electrodes. As a modification each electrode may be secured individually.
