Abstract

360,759. Jib cranes end stop gears. TRESSE, P., 166, Boulevard de l'EgalitÚ, Calais, France. Jan. 31, 1931, No. 3157. [Classes 78 (iv) and 78 (v).] A crane comprises a standard 10 and a mast 15, telescopically received therein, which supports a jib structure 16. The standard is detachably mounted on a framework 1 which is mounted on a turntable 4 supported on a carriage running on rails. In order to erect the crane the carriage is clamped to the rails and the standard placed in the dotted line position on rollers 6 and pushed along until a hook thereon engages the axle of the rollers. A cable 23, connected to a winch 2, is attached to the end of the standard 10 and the winch hand operated so as to raise the standard to a vertical position in which it is held by a pin 24. The 'cable 23 is now disconnected and passed round pulleys 17 to constitute the hoisting cable. The mast 15 is then raised by a cable 12, passing over pulleys 11, 22, and connected to a hand winch 7, and is secured in position by clamps 13. When the hoisting cable reaches its uppermost position a weight 25 on the hook engages a ring 19, pivoted on a casing 18, so as to tension the cable and actuate a striking, gear 21 to declutch the winch 2. The counterweight of the crane is supported on a member 8.
