Abstract

358,968. Insulators. POLLAK, J. E., 20, Holborn, London.-(Hermsdorf-Schomburg-Isolatoren Ges.; Hermsdorf, Thuringia, Germany.) May 14, 1930, No. 14884. [Class 36.] Suspension type insulators are formed with screens smooth on both sides and having no ridges so that they may be cleaned by wind and rain, the screens being set obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the insulator. Fig. 5 shows an insulator with a screen set obliquely to the vertical axis, the surfaces a, b being smooth and free from ridges. Fig. 8 shows a chain of insulators with oblique screens. Insulators stated to be not part of the invention are described and are formed with smooth screens of the type shown in Figs. 1, 2, 4, and 7. In Fig. 7 an insulator is shown with two screens 1, 2 which are set vertically. Insulator chains having smooth screened insulators alternating in the chain with deeply ribbed insulators are also described.
