357,127. Disinfecting by fumigation. CABRERA, R. M., 524, Florida Street, Buenos Aires. May 16; 1930, No. 15133. [Classes 49 and 81 (i).] Cereals, fruit, foodstuffs, textiles, &c., are disinfected by treatment with the vapour of carbondisulphide carried by a gas such as air which is saturated with the vapour by contact with liquid carbon disulphide and passed over the materials to be disinfected in a closed gastight circuit. A suitable apparatus comprises a vessel 1 for the materials to be treated having a door 5, an inlet 2 and outlet 8 for the vapour saturated gas and a discharge valve 14. The gas current is circulated by a pump 3 through a vessel 6 containing liquid carbon disulphide 10 and traps 11, 12, the chamber 1 and thence back through a pipe 9. A simple bottle containing carbon disulphide and material for trapping entrained liquid may be substituted for the vessel 6.
