[Class 68 (ii).] A hollow concrete pile has s internal 1 partitions d transverselv intersecting the axis of the pile and enclosing diagonal reinforcing braces e; it may have sealed unoccupied cavities j, and a solid head, and a tapering reinforced concrete foot with a metal shoe. The braces e connect reinforcing rods b embraced by the rings c. A hole i is provided for a lifting-sling, and a similar hole is made in the head to accommodate the usual guide-bolt used in driving. The pile is made by casting in a mould round the reinforcements, and round hollow lengths j of strawboard or metal tubing closed at each end.
