Convention date, Dec. 23, 1929. [Class 38 (ii).] By warying inductance.-A tuning-fork oscillation generator for use in a wireless receiving circuit comprises a fork 76 maintained in vibration by magnet coils 72, 74 which are in the grid and plate circuits of a valve 70. Synchronism between the fork and an incoming wave is effected by supplying the fork-produced oscillation through a frequency doubler 66 to the grids of two valves 60, 62, and by supplying the incoming wave through a frequency doubler 48 to the plate circuits of the same pair of valves 60, 62. The grids are excited in phase agreement, and the plates in phase opposition or vice versa. The plate supply circuits of these valves include coils 80, 82 on a magnet 78 which, on the occurrence of a departure from synchronism, acts on the fork to restore synchronism.
