Abstract

356,212. Coat stiffeners. DITCHFIELD, G. H., 55, Lancing Road, Sheffield. June 4, 1930, No. 17239. [Class 141.] The shoulder of a coat is stiffened and kept in shape by means of a flexible wire &c. stiffener e secured along the shoulder seam c, between the sleeve and collar, by means of stitching f, the end adjacent the sleeve being left loose. As shown, a pad h is arranged adjacent the scye g between the material of the coat and the loose end of the stiffener, said end being retained by a loop k on the pad. The stiffener is cloth-covered. The usual canvas interlining i hes over the stiffener. Alternatively, the stiffener may be accommodated in a pocket along the shoulder seam.
