Abstract

355,584. Bottle-washing machines. HILL, G. F., Earlsgate, New Walk, North Ferriby, Yorkshire, and HILL ENGINEERING CO. (HULL), Ltd., T., 247, Beverley Road, Hull. Oct. 30, 1930, No. 32566. [Class 138 (i).] A cradle or cup 10 for use in bottle-rinsing and other cleansing operations in which an inner liner 13 of rubber is provided is characterized by spaced longitudinal ribs 15, 16 adapted to grip the neck of an inverted bottle. The cup, to which a rinser jet may be attached at 11, may be of cylindrical form with apertures. The liner has a lip 14 at one end. The ribs 15 extend the whole length of the liner and alternate with ribs 16 which extend only over a portion. When the liner is properly placed in the cup the ribs 16 coincide with the vertical centre lines of the apertures. The ribs 16 taper throughout their length, while the taper of the ribs 15 ceases at half length. The liner is riveted at 17 to the cup. A plurality of cups &c. may be mounted on a common support or may be mounted directly on a conveyer.
