[Class 20 (iv).] Damp courses consisting of sheet metal a such as lead, copper, or zinc between bitumen or bitumenized felt b, c, are made with the metal flush at the sides but exposed at the ends, either on alternate upper and lower faces, as shown, or both the exposed portions on one face, thus ensuring continuity of metal at the joints. For vertical damp courses, the exposed metal on the upper edges may have a portion turned over at right-angles under the brickwork, the remainder contacting with the lower edge of the plate next above, whilst the side edges overlap as described above.
