354,952. Stencil-duplicators. HARTMANN, E. B., (trading as ANDREWS & CO.), 106, Great Saffron Hill, London. July 9, 1930, No. 20808. Drawings to Specification. [Class 100 (ii).] Inking-apparatus.-In rotary stencil-duplicators of the type comprising a pair of inking-cylinders arranged one above the other and connected by stencil-carrying bands, the working surface of the upper cylinder is roughened so as to avoid slip relatively to the ink-distributing roller. The roughening may comprise (1) shallow grooves, preferably V-shaped, disposed lengthwise of the cylinder so as to form minute parallel ridges; (2) transverse grooves arranged at right-angles to the axis of the cylinder or at any other suitable angle ; (3) transverse grooves crossing one another to provide projections; (4) longitudinal grooves crossing transverse grooves. The grooves act also as ink-containing means ensuring proper density of the duplicated matter.
