[Class 130.] A separate mouthpiece of bakelite hard rubber, &c., which prevents saliva from entering the stem of a pipe comprises a tubular section 13 terminating in a head 14. A conduit 16 is bored through the head at right-angles to the bore of the member 13 forming a chamber 15 which deviates saliva downwardly. The member 13 is slotted throughout its length at 17 and for a short distance at 18 to enable it to be engaged by friction in the stem 10.
