[Class 81 (ii),] A sanitary towel has a filling 2 which is substantially triangular in longitudinal section, as shown in Fig. 1, the cross section varying from a maximum along the plane A-A, where it is approximately of triangular shape, to minima at the ends. The filling preferably consists of chewed-up cardboard which is moulded or otherwise shaped and is wrapped in a number of layers of cellulose wadding. The pad so formed is inserted in a gauze holder 4, Fig. 3, provided with tapes or loops 5 for attachment purposes.
