Abstract
352,178. Plasters or protective films for wounds. RADO, L., 10, Bismarckstrasse, Wannsee, Berlin. May 23, 1930, No. 15899. [Class 81 (ii).] A transparent plaster is made from a fibreless cellulose foil coated in known manner on one or both sides with a nitrocellulose or othermoisture-proof lacquer, and made up for use as a plaster by the addition of a fixative layer. The cellulose hydrate foil sold under the registered Trade Mark Cellophane " may be used. The face of the coated foil which carries the fixative layer may be roughened, e.g. by brushing and the inequalities may be confined to the lacquer layer only so that the strength of the foil is not affected. The fixative layer may be applied on a base of linen, paper, &c. forming a backing for the cellulose foil. As shown in the Figure, the sheet g of coated cellulose foil is provided with several strips h, i. k of fixative at different distances and it may be of different widths, so that plasters of varying sizes may be cut from the sheet. The sheet may be perforated as at x, y.
