[Classes 70 and 87 (ii).] To ensure a sharp cutting off of the rubber goloshing of cloth shoes and the like which are provided, by press casting between inner and outer mould parts, with rubber covered sides, a resilient portion is provided on one or both of the mould parts at the edge of the goloshing. As shown, a rubber goloshing g is cast on to the cloth side e of a shoe by pressure between an inner mould or last a and an outer mould b. The last has a resilient inlay k, e.g. of rubber, leather, felt, cloth, paper or lead, opposite the cutting edge h of the outer mould. In a modification, the cutting edge h is resiliently mounted, as indicated by dotted lines.
