Abstract

349,365. Aircraft framework. BAYERISCHE FLUGZEUGWERKE AKT.-GES. and MESSERSCHMITT, W., 118A, Haunstetterstrasse, Augsburg, Germany. July 21, 1930, No. 21943. Convention date, July 19, 1929. [Class 4.] A connection for the parts of aircraft comprises a solid connecting member corresponding to the distance between and the shape of the constituents of a girder frame or the like and provided with one or more bores for the reception of pins, hooks, &c. As shown the frame member 2 comprises two spaced channels 2<1>, 2<2> having between them the connecting member 15 of wood, light metal, &c. and gusset plates 11, 12 the whole being secured together by rivets 16, 17 or screws. The cross spar 7 and strut 9 are secured to the gusset plates by rivets 13, 14 and the member 15 is provided with one or more bores to receive an eyebolt 18 to which a strut for the engine bracket is secured. The connecting member may be of cylindrical, cubical or other simple shape and may be adapted to receive bolts, lugs, or screws.
