Abstract
A sealing composition for coating wax-impregnated elements of electric condensers consists of a wax-like halogenated naphthalene and bitumen known under the Trade Mark of "Gilsonite." The halogenated naphthalene consists principally of tri- or tetra-chloro-naphthalene and the preferred proportions are, tetra-chloro-naphthalene 3-9 parts, Gilsonite 1 part. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also compositions consisting of mixtures of a halogenated naphthalene and any bituminous or wax-like amorphous product which would have the desired result of increasing resistance to fracture, and other examples given are: (1) tri-chloro-naphthalene and candelilla wax in equal parts; (2) ozokerite and carnauba wax are substituted for the candelilla wax in example (1) in part; (3) a chlorinated naphthalene containing principally tri-chloro-naphthalene and a cresolformaldehyde resinoid in equal parts. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
