Automatic-feed weighers. - A sack-filling machine comprises a frame carrying two scale beams L, M, each supporting in an horizontal position a scale pan P or Q projecting into an aperture in the frame platform B and carrying a sack-holder W or X, in combination with pillars E, F projecting above the platform and carrying a breeches shoot H, J provided at the upper end with a hand-operated valve S and at the lower end with a sliding valve f operated by a rocking lever k connected to the sack-holders by rods m, m<1> so that the descent of a scale pan will rock the lever k and move the valve f to transfer the feed of material to the other sack. The rods m, m<1> are connected to the sack-holders by screw adjustments. The apparatus may form part of a lorry or may be mounted on wheels. The platform B is situated at a height equal to the floor of a lorry or cart so that the filled sacks may readily be transferred. A handle l is attached to the shaft of the rocking lever k. In using the apparatus, the handle l is moved to set the valve f so that one shoot H or J only is open. The valve S is then opened to admit the material e.g. grain from a thrashing machine. When the sack has received the predetermined weight it overcomes the weighbeam and pulls down its rod m or m<1> thus transferring the feed to the second sack, the action being automatic and continuous.
