Abstract
338,448. Jennings, T. Feb. 4, 1930. Roll holders. - A holder for toilet and like rolls comprises a backing plate 1, a substantially U- shaped wire or other frame 4 carrying a pin 8 on which the roll or a roller 9 is mounted, and the pin is permanently hinged or looped at one end to one arm of the frame and the other end is bent into an eye or loop 10 hinged to constitute a head so as to be detachably connected with a hook 11 formed in the other arm of the frame. The permanent hinged connection between the pin and one arm may comprise interengaging loops 6, 7, or the two loops may be separate with the shank of the pin 8 passing through the loop 6. The backing plate can be suspended by one or more slots 5, and it may be of metal with a pressed up strengthening rim 2 and a pressed in portion 3 extending, if necessary, across the whole width of the plate and partially embracing and constituting a bearing for the wire frame, although the backing plate can be of wood with separate attaching means for the frame. Shoulders 12 may be formed in the plate beneath the arms of the frame. According to the Provisional Specification, the arms of the frame may have a spring effect by making the pin 8 longer or shorter than the distance between the, arms.
