Abstract
337,973. Rogers, G. H. Nov. 7, 1929. Induction pipes, fittings for.-Charges traversing an induction pipe are thrown outwardly by a fixed or revoluble member 13<a>, having roughened edges and mounted within a tubular member 8 the inner surface of which is also roughened, for instance, by a member of star or diamond shaped perforations in its wall. The deflecting member 13a is mounted on a stud 12 supported by transverse members 10, 11 at each end, the support 10 being formed integral with a flange-shaped plate 10<a> which is clamped between the carburettor and induction pipe flanges. The tubular member 8 is shown fitted within a rcessed and flanged sleeve 4 but the latter may be used without the liner 8, suitable perforations being formed in the part 4. A liner constructed of the hard material and an outer member of a soft metal such as aluminium may be employed. According to the Provisional Specification the mixture may press through the perforations into a space formed between the member 8 and the walls of the induction pipe or sleeve 4.
