Abstract

337,638. Morgan, R. Nov. 28, 1929. Shafts. - A shaft for golf clubs, fishing rods, &c., is formed of a metallic core 3 having longitudinal ribs on its exterior and surrounded by mitred and grooved contiguous strips 1 of non- metallic material, held together and to the core by adhesive. The core is formed of light flexible material such as aluminium and may be either hollow, Fig. 2, or solid, Fig. 3. The strips 1 are formed of raw bamboo or hickory and are secured by glue.
