Seat adjustments.-A means for adjusting the height of seats and similar furniture comprises a frusto-conical or frusto-pyramidal member h housed between a disc c on an inner stem b and a plate g on an operating-rod d, the parts being fitted in an outer stem a. The weight of the table, seat &c., is borne on the stem b, which, through the parts c, h, forces the balls j into engagement with the inner surface of the stem a. Release is effected by a hand-lever o and fork s. The balls j may be housed in recesses r in the inclined surface of the part h.
