Abstract
337,009. Gill, J. F., Chaviara, J. N., and Teago, F. J. July 24, 1929. Dynamos and motors combined for transmitting power.-Electric power plant comprises the combination of one or more separately driven induction generators and a single rotary converter which is provided with variable direct current excitation and serves also as the exciter of the generator or generators. The generators may be of the double squirrel cage type, and a bank of condensers used with the exciter. Two induction generators b are driven by prime movers a and drive a direct current motor h. The stators are energized by an electrically coupled rotary converter d, e having a flywheel w. The field of the rotary is excited through a reversible potentiometer r, whereby the polarity and E.M.F. of the brushes may be altered. The stators of the rotors b are indicated at c and condensers g are combined therewith whereby a smaller exciter is permissible.
